selling my car to the junk yard in CA?

ok, i have this car that has well over 250k miles, i feel its gonna die soon so i dont wanna sell it to a person... so i feel i should sell it to the junk yard instead.... what is it that i need to sell it to the junk yard? do i need to sign and give them the title??or is there more papers to sign?? thanks do i need a thumb print to sell it to the junk yard??? cause im sure as hell not giving them that./..

1. Many junkyards will provide free towing and provide up to $500 for yor vehicle. All you need to do is sign the pink over to the junkyard. I've done this twice and found it simple.
2. With the price of scrap steel as high as it is you would benifit more by taking it to a scrap yard. And all they need is a title a thumb print and a signature.
