Is it illegall to sell one of my junk cars as PARTS ONLY since I have lost my title.?
On one of my cars, I have been fighting with Tag places tax commission DOT on how to replace my title that i lost wich im getting the run around, I have to contact to owner, hell i am the ownner of the car i cant get that throught to them, so i gave them the VIN and other number of wich they found it under my name, but here comes the catcher, i have documents now show proof of ownership and my Liscense of SS card birth certificate aint good enought for them, but anyway im selling the car as drivable but as Parts whole or in peices without a title of wich they will have a signed paper that its for part distrubtion only not to drive, any way i can work with something like that, other wise ill distribute parts outs of it until its gone. i wouldnt be selling it to drive, the car is not complete anyway so now i see it as a shell with misc parts. worth a shot someones bound to nned it for parts

- no .write a bill of sale " as is"
- Selling car parts is not illegal; however, selling the entire car without a title is a crime in some states. I recommend looking into your states auto sales policy. You can contact some of the aid groups such as the Can Academy in Dallas which takes donated cars, repairs them, sells them and gives the money to the poor children it taught to repair the car in the first place. This gives the option of declaring the value of the donation from your taxes.
- Just go to motor vehicle and they will get your title copy sent to you in the mail!
- yes i would sell it as a parts car only, are part it out until gone. i would make sure i keep records of all the people u sold parts to are the total car to. make sure they know that it has no title and put it in writing and keep that record for a long time. go for it
