Overhaulin'

What is the best/fastest/most ethical way to sell a car?

I need to sell my car in the next 4 weeks, and will not be purchasing another. What is the best way do to this? Any insight into selling my car in central Virginia/Shenandoah Valley would be appreciated.

  1. EBAY
  2. post it on autotrader.com you can post your phone number or email address and people will contact you if theyre interested in checking it out, you can add pics and i think its free
  3. I'd put it in a local paper. Check the value of it on Edmunds.com or Kelley Blue Book (kbb.com). Retail at the price you think is closest to the value of your vehicle with some room to negotiate. Good luck!
  4. just run an add in your local paper ,,and put all the info you can about your car in there with it,,and be sure and put a asking price for it,,and a phone no,,then when you get call,s on it,,be as honest as you can ,,because when people are looking at car,s,,they get really pissed when you lie to them,,or don't tell them all about the car,,i have sold a lot this way,,good luck on your sale,,hope this help,s you.
  5. It depends on the price and age of your car. If it's really old and cheap (pre 1992 model), the local paper is probably your best bet because shoppers for those cars don't use the internet much. If it's 15 years or younger, list it on an internet site like AutoTrader.com. When you list with them, your listing appears on AOL Autos, Yahoo Autos and many other big sites.
  6. A for sale sign in the window. Check with dealers. Or better yet, take it to an auto auction.
  7. If you're just looking to get rid of it quickly, you might consider selling it to a lot so they can sell it for you. Either an outright sale, or cosign type agreement.
