How much can i expect to sell? or if i do sell them to the junk yard how much do i expect to get? Or is there any place where the government buy off your car for at least 1000 the car that still run but failed smog check?

  1. u could prolly get lik, 5-600 bucks tops. an old car lik that? not gunna get much. sry. =[
  2. THERE IS NO GOVERNMENT BUY PROGRAM. Say it again!!! Doesn't exist...never did. Put an ad in your local paper and see what happens.
  3. Just go google it,i know it may not be the best answer but you might find some use from google.
  4. you can try selling it on Craigslist.org someone might be looking for that type of car.. just go to "post to classifieds" and then it'll basically tell you the rest of the process. good luck :]
  5. I can't tell you how much you can sell your car for but I can offer a way for you pass your emissions test. There is a product you can buy at Wal Mart for about $7 its called CRC GUARANTEED TO PASS Emissions Test Formula... its guaranteed to pass the test or they will give you double your money back. Hope this helps you.
  6. You can try kbb.com and when you list the condition there is a questionnaire at the bottom, and I know one of the things is emissions. But you more than likely are not going to get much for that. I agree with 500-600. Try to list it and see where it goes.
  7. For emissions testing, just bring it back and try again. Not sure where you're from or how emissions tests work there (California maybe?) but here in Ontario, we have emissions testing too. With older cars, they can have good days and bad ones and the emissions can vary wildly at any one time. I brought my 91 protege in and it failed miserably. Brought it in 3 weeks later and it passed easily - with no repairs whatsoever. PS- Not too sure about that 'Guaranteed to Pass' stuff - it says the guarantee only applies if there is nothing wrong with your fuel, engine or emissions systems - which is almost always why cars fail e-tests. For the $7 - $10 or so it might be worth a try though... Fuel injector cleaner has been known to help as well, but make sure you burn off the tank of gas that you use any of the various products that are supposed to improve emissions in and fill up with fresh gas before retesting.
