5. only for pennies- the problem is the acid liquids inside- if you could get rid of that problem and take lead out - you would still only get peanuts -lead is only £100s a ton

8. Yes and no, the battery has a lot of lead inside it and this lead has a value. However the lead is soaked in highly corrosive acid, this acid needs to be safely disposed of and there is a cost for doing this. Ja.
