im planning to buy a used 97 honda accord. is it fuel efficient?

i only knew some basic things about cars. im here in the philippines. im choosing between 95 corolla. 1.6 and this accord 2.0 any feedback would be greatly appreciated. or if you know someone who sells cars. my budget would be around Php 160k. email to jeremaysilvestre@yahoo.com thanks, Jay

1. hondas are known for their gas sipping. so i'd say yes, if it's a 5 speed expect even more fuel efficiency.
2. well this below, is the mpg for an automatic 97 accord based on the consumption of 1 gallon of gas MPG (city) 22 MPG (highway) 29 MPG (combined) 25 i do suggest the accord over the corolla try craigslist when looking for a car, i am not sure they have it were you live but you can try.. i know the accord is alot safer and roomier than the corolla, but the corolla does get better gas mileage.
3. i have a 98 accord and i avradge 30 miles a gallon love it it it looks sporty it is a two door and fast but make shure you look at the trans if it is a auto because they have always had a bad auto trans problemb the five speed is great
4. honda is the best car on the market,, period and im a sales mgr for a mazda store, yes gas is ok and it always holds value
