What classic car (make/model/year) should a newbie buy?
I'm looking for an older car (1950s, 60s, early 70s) that's relatively dependable and easy to care for. What makes/models/years are considered desirable? Thanks!

- MGB,GT.3.5ltr.1973.V8.
- A mid 60's Mustang can be a nice choice. The coupe can still be bought pretty reasonably and there are a lot of places that sell parts to restore them. They are easy to work on as well.
- Oh God No. Don't get an MGB GT. They suck. It may have a V8, but it can't compete with the openess of an MGB. My first car was a 1978 MGB. Loved it. In fact, I'm trying to get it back. It's got a basic 1.8L four cylinder (great gas mileage) with plenty of punch (got mine up to 120mph). Easy to work on, cheap to buy and fix. That's if your looking for an import. US built, I'd go for a mid 60's Ford Mustang. Cheap to work on, fairly reliable. If your looking for something more valuable, you can't go wrong with a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro (the ultimate muscle car). Research MGB on wikipedia.org. If your interested about more info, e-mail me and I'd be happy to help. aeronicapilot@yahoo.com
- Ill say the chevelle, camaro, challenger, nova or mustang, but the problem is that they are too over rated, so go for a Impala like i did or a firebird, trans am, cuda, charger, roadrunner, gtx,or a gto.
