Have you ever sold your car to a cash for cars company?Do they pay well for your car?
I have a 99 jetta that does not turn on anymore and it has just been sitting there in my garage. do you think its a good idea to sell it to one of these places?

- First of all, I would go to Blue Book or NADA website to see what your car is worth on the market and then call these car companies up and see what they're willing to offer you. Be aware that since your car is not running and they're not sure what the reason is, that would make your price lower. There is a checklist you have to fill out on line and after you answer it, you get a price. Good luck to you.
- I sold a 1995 Pontiac Bonneville to CarMax in Houston in 2006. Blue Book value was $500. They paid me $1000. Not bad.
- Unless it is going to cost more than $1,000 to fix it - I strongly recommend that you at least get it running. No dealership is going to give you anything close to what it is worth if it is not running. Once you have it running, take it to CarMax. They will give you the best price.
- Try to find one of this "come to your house mechanics," and find out what is wrong. It might be just a that wire got disconected, or some other small problem. Then fix it and sell it yourself I used http://www.selllikeadealer.com/ to sell my car in 3 days for as much as dealers in my area. However, if you can not fix your car no cash for cars company is going to buy it. Your only bets then junk yard or sell it by parts on http://www.ebay.com/ probably get more money then from junk yard. Good luck!
