- You don't. Vehicles are sold by title, and if you don't have a clear title you can't sell it. Enjoy your car.
- this is easier than you think. Prepare a contract that you agree to sell the car (list the VIN and License number) to whoever they are for the dollar amount you want (say $6000) and you agree to pay the balance of the lien out of this money and have the title sent to the buyer by a certain date. Also the buyer acknowledges that they have legal responsibility to insure the vehicle and take responsibility for its operation from the point of sale forward. You and the buyer go to a notary public and have it notarized. and you're done-- they pay you and take the car and a copy of the bill of sale. You send the payoff to the lien company and they send the buyer the title.
