  1. even if you could i doubt that the vehicle will even FLOAT
  2. Are you a good swimmer? Really, i have seen older cars that were amphibian vehicles, most were rear engine cars i believe - cars with the motor in the back. What you are talking about doing probably could be done-but man the cost of it all. You would need to get with a machine shop to probably help you produce some form of gearing system that would allow you to switch the transmission over from the driveshaft/rear axle to driving a propeller. Possibly a old VW Beetle (not the new series) would be an ideal car for this, if you could find one that isnt full of rust holes by now. The old beetle had the engine in the back. Or possibly if you are using a car with a engine in the front (like 99% of cars are) you could add a boat motor in the back/trunk area and use that. It gives me a headache to think of what it would take. Good luck with all of that!
  3. It would be easier to fit an ourboard moter, mate. Also, an impellor (as opposed to a propellor, they're what's used on jetskis) is less likely to come a cropper on entering/leaving the water. Even then, it would still be easier to fit a seperate motor for the impellor.
