Is it legal to completely modify the shape of a vehicle without any permits?

Something like the oscar-meyer mobile or something extreme along those lines. Could I make my car look completely different without getting into any legal trouble for it?

1. once you buy a car you can do anything you want to to it,there's no law against it,make it look like anything you want to,that's why we live in America,free choice,you wont get in no trouble for it,have fun with it,good luck.,PS you can make it look like the space shuttle if you want to,good luck.
2. Ive always wanted to drive that wiener car! ha ha. but yeah you can mod the car anyway you want. the only thing i can think of that would get you pulled over is a jet engine or something along the lines.
