L-Plater Vehicle Restrictions?

I got my L's few weeks ago and i haven't started driving yet coz the only car i have access to is a big 4WD and im not comfortable driving it. So i'm wondering if i save up some money and buy a car wat are my restrictions. e.g. Can't drive V8, can't driving modified engine cars etc. Im also wondering do i just select wat type of transmission i wanna drive for the process of obtaining my license coz i wanna learn on a manual car and do i have to go to the RTA and tell them i wanna learn manual or automatic? 1. Learn how to deive a manual as you will be able to drive both manual and auto. Learning how to drive in an auto means you will only be able to drive an auto. Get yourself something like a corrolla or pulsar as a first car, they are cheap, easy to maintain and reliable as a first car. The restrictions you have listed go right through untill you have your full licence(after P plates). Go to the rta in the state you live to get the relevent info.
