Is a 1992 Acura Integra a decent platform to modify?

As far as a sport compact is concerned, is a 92 Acura Integra a decent car to modify? I'm not talking about ridiculous spoilers or gaudy body kits, I mean, is the B18A1 motor in these cars good to build up? Can I get 200hp at the flywheel with bolt ons, or do I have to go with a power adder? If the motor is built correctly, will it still have this power reliably? I've got a Ford Mustang that is my sports car, I just would like to try something new with a sport compact. Does anyone have good information or links?

  1. the b18 is a good motor to modify, theres alot out there to do to those motors, even as far as bolt-ons. if you got enough money, you can get alot more than 200hp just with bolt ons if you have any questions you can email me hondacrxkd@yahoo.com a few sites i would recommend are: www.summitracing.com, www.andysautosport.com hope everythings good for ya bro later
  2. There's a site dedicated to the proper way to turbocharger a four cylinder Acura or Honda. You'll have to do a search for: G2IC Turbo Guide Its very informative. Also, if turbo is what your're looking at buy the book - Maximum Boost by Corky Bell - its a bit more technical but is designed to be read by an auto enthusiast as opposed to an engineer. There are many performance parts for the b18 - and I don't see any reason why you couldn't achieve 200hp. You are a realist at least - some folks want advice on getting 400hp Hope this helps!!!
  3. yeah they are great cars to mod =] you can get 200 esay if you do it right, there are boat loads of mods you can do to a B18. reliabilty will vary due to the mileage and hard the engine was/ is going to be worked some sites to checkout are honda-tech.com and team-integra.net
