Do dealer car upgrades add to trade-in value?

Hi there, i bought a 2006 civic si coupe back in 2006 when they were rare and hard to find, at the time the only one i could find had a bunch of dealer upgrades that pushed the cost from 20,800 to almost 25,000 all of the upgrades are honda factory performance parts such as the exhaust, suspension, body kits and wheels nothing has been modified outside of warranty. I notice when i go to KBB.com and look up my resale value none of those options appear on the list. So does that mean they're not going to give me anything for the options? Hi, i guess i didnt mention that the parts are all honda factory performance parts. someone indicated that 'non manufacturer' parts are not worth anything, they're all manufacturer parts.

  1. some of them wont appear on the list, but it still adds more value to it,when you go to sell it you can ask more for it,some books will show some upgrades and some wont, but any time its dealer installed it does help the resale value of it.
  2. They are worthless-kinda like puting a pool in your house!
  3. no dealers kill you on upgrades you should take them off and sell them or sell the car outright and make your money back
  4. No...This does not mean you won't get anything for the upgrades. It just means dealer upgrades aren't in kbb.com's database. Kbb.com would have only the manufacturer's options. However, modified cars are not usually worth more to a *dealer* than those not modified. Modified cars will appeal to fewer people and perhaps be harder to sell. Find a private party to buy it.
