What should I do before modifying my car?

I have my Honda Jazz/Fit for almost two years now. I love my car but it's a little boring now for me. I wanna make it look sportier and funkier. I'm considering some body works (incld some paint jobs) and enhance its safety measure. Need to change da wheels too (currently it's14" with alloy rims). I'm concernd bout any legal issues involved eg. local authorities, insurance, car warranty. And if anyone know off any good site where I can get some inspiration for my car, dat would be great..Thanks.

1. you shouldnt have any leagal issues or insurance issues, unless you do something really stupid, like put a giant racial comment on your car. theres not much you can do with safety, cause the car is equipped with what it has already in terms of protecting you, unless youre thinking of putting a 5- point harness. wheels and tires are a good start, then body kits. performance mods would be good too. look at import tuner magazines/websites for inspiration.
