what happens whem you withdraw yourself from a car auction sale after purchasing it?

i recently bought a car from an auction in altona - {ManheimFowles} but i am not interested in the car anymore and they are still threatnig me that they they are going to take me to court even after they took my $800 which i had payed for the deposit. i have heared that once you loose your deposit, you will no longer be liable for anything please help me with what i should do

1. Unless I am mistaken, bidding in an auction more or less legally binds you to purchase the vehicle is you have the winning bid. This is probably going to cost you some money before the problem goes away. Let this be a lesson to you to make sure you are happy with the car before bidding on it!
2. I'm afraid you own it.
