On a car auction, is it possible to find a VW passat Diesel, in good condition, 2001 and up for under £3000?

I am just trying to figure out if its worth attending a BCA auction.

4. yes you can i got mine from auction but not VW it was Nissan , and i was lucky cause my friend bought it for me he knows thing or too about the cars and the auction. If you like send your details again and i can send you his mobile number , he will charge you small fee though , for his time.
5. Probably not in what you'd call good condition. Any Passat Diesel at auction will only be there because it's considered too worn out / damaged / high mileage to be sold at a reputable dealer's site. It won't be cleaned or serviced like a retail car, and even if you do manage to outbid the second division motor traders and taxi boys, it may well cost a few hundred quid to get it up to a similar condition to one bought retail. Also car auctions are for experienced car buyers, all these seasoned traders can spot a private punter a mile off, and will often pull some tricks! Good luck if decide to go ahead, but be careful.
6. Yeah you can, as long as the general public dont show up... I go Wimbldon Manheim auctions and when the general public show up it get buggered...... A passat is usually going to be an ex mini cab so expect it to have nearly done 200000 miles!! Go further up North like Birmingham or even further north for really good bargains and in Scotland used cars aauctions are best and you can have a nice time while buying....
