Police car auctions in or around Los Angeles?

I need a car ASAP, I'm looking to go to one of those police auctions with my mechanic, where exactly are these auctions and when are they?

1. They usually happen every few weeks or so at any given lot. There are way too many to list here, so the best thing I can tell you is to call a police department in your area, and ask them where they impound cars. You should have the number in a matter of seconds. Then call the impound yard, and ask when they have auctions. Be careful. Some of these cars are really in bad shape. Also, I would avoid a lot of the bigger auctions that are advertised on web sites or the ones that come up in Google searches. You get a lot of shills there. Shills are dealer reps who bid on cars just to drive up the price.
2. You can find out where these auctions take place by getting a car auction listing. www.mycarauctionreview.com has info on the best ones you can get. The auctions are usually held every couple of weeks.
3. You dont need a auction. you can go the Highway Patrol used car lot off the 110 by Alpine Village
4. You can always just run a Google search, I'm sure you'll find one through the internet.
