How do i go about removing my exboyfriends name from my car title loan?

He was the second signer not because of my credit though. He actually has no credit at all and mine is not terrible. We were trying to build his credit up for a house but he is cheating on me. So I just want to get his name off of the title how would I do this?

1. if you want to remove someone off the title by yourself without involving that other person. Then the title needs to read your name OR that others persons name. But if the title reads your name and the other persons name then you would both need to go in to take their name off the title.If it has both namesthen you cant do anything to the title without that other party being there. Or it gives open doors and allows either party to do things with the title. You probably will be better off just taking it to the dmv and having a clerk show you how to fill out the title. In the space where it asks for an amount you would just put drop or delete name. Then you will have to follow the reassignment. Good luck!!! I had a similar situation, where by boyfriend is the cosigner to his own car and im the actually buyer, it got screwed up at the dealer ship and come to find out im not even on the title. then he cheated on me a year later but we are trying to work things out.
2. Unless you pay it off ... his name remains. They will not release his name from the debt.
