Best time of year to buy a new car?

Now that the economy is in the toilet I was thinking about getting a new car. I have heard that the car makers are having a hard time selling cars right now. Should I wait it out a little longer from the economy to get a little worse or start looking to buy one now? Are there better car deals at the end of the year?

1. i only know one trick wait until the new models roll out to buy the "old" new cars like when the '09s come out you buy the '08s

3. The best time is like in late August that's when the price starts lowering for the old models. That way you can get a better price for the car you like.
