Baking in Vs Direct Parking?

What is the main reason why some people back in and some people don't?I used to drive a 99 Ford Windstar(fords suck by the way) and backed it in about 70% of the time.Now I drive a 89 Toyota Celica(Awesome car) and back in half the time.The answer I heard the most was that large cars are easier to pull out when parking backwards.But I still park my little Toyota sports car backwards so I don't buy that explanation too much.
