- Buying used parts are always a 50/50 shot. No matter what it is. I would try a radiator shop in your area. If you are planning to do it yourself, you will also need the drier/evaporator and the orifice tube. You should buy these new for sure. You need to replace them when you open the ac system due to contamination in the system. Wherever you get it new, ask if they have the kit that comes with everything you need. PAG oil, freon, orings, A/C compressor, drier and orifice... It usually is only about $20 more and you get everything together. If you buy it all separately you will spend more. If you are in the northwest (Oregon/Washington area) call 1-800-Radiator. I just got a kit for a 99 cavalier for about $300.00.
- Getting some parts from a junkyard is o.k., but some parts are a crap shoot. Depending on the type car you have, it maybe better to get it new or at least rebuilt rather than taking the chance on an old part. I would definatley get a price check on a new/rebuilt part before doing the junkyard thing. Good Luck www.americanairsuspension.com
