Can I sell my car to a dealer if my registration has been suspended for no insurance?

My vehicle registration was suspended for having no insurance, and instead of getting the vehicle insured, I want to sell it to a car dealer. Can I still do so with suspended registration or do I have to register the car, sell it and then cancel the insurance?

  1. you can go to the dealer, and they will either pay the registration fees and penalties you owe, or they will tack that on to the loan you will be getting from them. They should take care of all the paperwork for you, they want you to buy a car. Don't cancel your insurance, pay for it, and transfer the car, once you know the vin. Good Luck.
  2. Yes, but you can't drive it to the dealer. He will either have to have it towed in if he has a truck, or you will have to pay to have it towed in.
  3. You can't drive a car without registration. But you can have it towed for a fee. Perhaps you would be better off towing your car to a local car auction than to a dealer. There will be some competition among buyers at the auction. And you will probably get a better price.
  4. doesnt make any diffrence to them, the next guy that buys the car will take care of it
