Ever sold a car to a cars-for-cash type place?Experience ?
I have a car that would be great as a mechanics fixer, and since it would cost more to fix it than the value of the car-- we bought one new. Now how is the best way to sell it? I only want the fair price, and I have found donating it wont benefit me. (would rather give cash than junk car) The car is a mazda 626, 97, 142000 miles, and in rough but running condition. It needs work on the cadalitic converter about 1000, and CVboots at about 700.

- You have not told us what the car is or anything about it. So I will answer you in a very general way. "cars-for-cash" are places that will more often than not give you less than the wholesale value of your car. This is not a viable option for you. Your second choice is to list it in the news paper and ask for best offer. I can tell you now that what you think is the "Fair Price" and what really is are a far way apart from one another. The third option is to load it on a trailer and haul it to the salvage yard. I would suggest that you check around and find out how much salvage yards are paying for a car like yours and hope that you get a little bit more out of option number 2
