Overhaulin'

Survey do you have issues with the 3 big car makers asking for a hand out at our expense?

I seriously think that if they were to lower cost because if any of you think that a car cost that much to manufacture than you are misguided. lower the sticker prices and watch sales go up bail yourselves out. in my honest opinion I really could care less if they did go under they are the reason why we use the internal combustion engine cars. the electric car was available years ago in California if you have forgotten and the big 3 were behind its demise because they get kick backs from oil companies

  1. yes. they say they're going to run out of money, but they obviously aren't because they have enough money to splurge on private jets, which cost millions per year to maintain. not to mention the actual cost just to buy one. but if they do ACTUALLY run out of money, then for the sake of the jobs they provide, then I'm fine with it.
  2. no, give us working Joes some bailout money.
  3. Only because of the repercussions of the economy, not because of them - but the millions and millions of people it hurts, like ripples in a pond, we are on the verge of another depression. That is not something I would be willing to see really. Electric cars are feasible yes, but financially, I could never afford one on my wages - so well, it can show another ripple effect for lower income people such as myself to go all electric. I have to drive long distances, I need a car I can afford.
  4. I kind of wish they would. I live in Michigan. Which means if they all go under the whole damn state does.
  5. sure do
  6. I agree, I feel I already did my part this year by buying one.
  7. what a bunch of assclowns to fly in on their private jets begging for our money to support their life of luxury......when I saw that I said fvck them...
  8. I am very much against all forms of bailout. I am pro capitalism. If they can't survive then let them die. As you said, lower the price, make less profit per car, and just fix it yourself. Survival of the fittest, you know? I mean, if I don't get part of the profit from them, which I think I should get since they are trying to force me to invest in these companies, then they get no money from me.
  9. I disagree with much that you say. The big three can't lower prices because they have huge labor costs in relation to other manufacturers. We don't see Honda and Toyota begging for money. There are something line 400,000 (young) retirees and only 250,000 workers at GM. Also the pure electric cars are harder to develop than most realize. The problem is cost vs. range. If the range is too low, people won't buy them. If the range is sufficient (like the Volt will be) the cost is too high, at $40K. The electric cars of a decade ago cost about a half million each to make.
  10. Yes. They sat on their fat @$$e$ knowing that things were going the way they are. In fact they have known since the '70's that this would happen and did nothing to stop it. One reaps what one sows!
  11. +no problem whatsoever if they stop having 20,000.00 dollars lunches at our expense , cut back some of them CEO's that get 1 k + for doing nothing, cut that dam union in half that makes it impossible for anyone to make any money but them , it sure don't go to the workers but all union reps drive nice cars and have fat stacks all honesty / we pay auto workers way to much, how about 15 an hour all medical paid or 30 an hour you pay health insurance out of your own as much as 30 or more an hour and they never bust a sweat anymore get real people , or get dirty and im not so sure its more of a auto union bailout to begin with, if it wasn't for all them stupid ridiculous demands they ask for all the time we wouldnt be in the predicament that the companies are in now would we, 30 + an hour to work on an assemble line, shyt people at 7/11 work harder than some of them if we don't and we go to war , who will be here to build what the military needs if your gonna call a spade a spade do it fairly and do it right
  12. It would be a lot easier to want to help them if not for the private jets, expensive clothes and the way they've marketed the shiit out of huge, gas guzzling SUV's for the past 10-15 years! I say let 'em die and rot in helll. If there's another depression, we'll get over it, we always do. I've been poor all my life and I'm looking forward to more poverty in the years to come so why the fucck would I want my tax money to be used to help billionaires continue living the good life? Why can't that tax money be used to help retrain all the assembly line workers so they can find decent, living wage jobs when the auto industry finally goes TU like we all know it's gonna do sooner rather than later anyway?!?
