whats the deal with florida car auctions?

i noticed a lot of dealers in my area, georgia, selling cheap used luxury cars (tls, es330s, g35s, etc..) at very low prices. I ask how and they all say from the florida auctions. apparently they have been leased before. i dont know what to make of this. are prior leased then auctioned vehicles good? what should i look out for? why are prices sooo cheap?

  1. Auction cars are a pretty good deal. The prices are so low because of the economy... luxury cars require more expensive maintenance, gas, etc. than regular cars so a lot of people are looking for cars they can afford in the long run. The main things to look out for since the cars are from Florida are rust or mildew. That's a sign that the car was in a flood, which is not a good thing.
  2. I bought a used car in Vermont last year and saved a lot. Try visiting several used car lots in Florida. http://www.findusedcardealer.com/Florida-Used-Car-Dealers.html
  3. There is no problem with previously leased cars, especially luxury models. They have usually been well taken care of and well maintained. A lot of the luxury cars from Florida are those that have been returned early when the lessees have run into financial problems.
