How do i sell lien car if its not under my name?

i traded a civic shell for a running nissan 300zx i got the car only with the bill of sale no pink slip. later when i tried to register it i couldnt because the car was on a lien sale. the guy who i got it from got the car from some other guy (witch i dont know). this guy got it from an impound so the car was on a lien????? im lost i just want to sell the car but its not under my name can i do that? i have the bill of sale can i sell it? please help i would really help me alot thx...:)

u can not sell anything that is not under your name
go to the police,if the guy sold a car with a lien,and without you knowing it he can go to jail............now if YOU ARE STUPID ENOUGH TO TRY AND SELL IT KNOWINGLY WITH A LIEN......YOU GO TO JAIL ALSO.go tell the police and the district atty., you get your money back plus damages..the bill of sale is your evidence he sold you a bad car deal....PLEASE DON'T BE STUPID AND TRY TO SELL IT
you'll have to donate it. those donation agencies always advertise that you can donate a car even if you have no keys or no title.
