Do I need a title if i want to sell my car to a junk yard?

And if so, which state i can do it? (My car isn't stolen, but i lost my title and need to sell the car ASAP because i am leaving the contry.) It is not in a junk shape per se , in fact it is in mint condition, but i just don't have time to go through all the administrative routine. What other suggestions are there , any ideas will be appreciated.

  1. hell no. i sold mine recently for $150 and no title. NO you don't.
  2. They'll usually require one to prove that you are the owner and can legally sell the car.
  3. not always but they will take your info. just in case it is stolen
  4. Not for parts
  5. It depends on the state you're in.
  6. Yes, to prove it is yours to sell.
  7. All legal junk or salvage yards require titles. For just the reason you stated, mint condition but want to junk it. In all reality whatever the reason, it sounds fishy so junk yards are required ti get titles. All states have the same law.
