Looking for good auto insurance company for classic car ?

Looking for an auto insurance company for my 66 impala. Know their are some that just do classic cars and would like to get the names of those. Do not want to pay that much for it. Looking for insurance on a classic car is totally different then a regular automobile. Think before u answer the question. Not looking for smart remarks just the answer to specific question.

  1. Most classic car insurance is sold through specialty brokers. These brokers have a specialized knowledge of how to value these kinds of cars. Look for "agreed value" in the policy terms. Two of the biggest are Hagerty and Grundy. They both have a lot of experience placing this type of insurance and have strong insurance companies behind them to back the policies. Infinity is an insurance company that does collector policies as well.
  2. There is a web site for classic car collectors--more than one, in fact--and that might be a good place to start. Also look for classic car colectors magazines at bookstores; there should be ads in there.
  3. For auto insurance the obvious way to get a fantastic rate is do a rate comparison on car policies. Make sure that you compare similar policies with the same limits, car model, location, etc so that all things are an accurate comparison. What I most often recommend is an online comparison quote at http://www.InsureAutoNow.info since they have top name insurers and can give multiple prices on car insurance polices.
  4. Hi Scoop! My classic muscle car (72 Dart Swinger) is covered by Heacock Insurance. Their website is http://www.heacockclassic.com I chose them because their prices were good compared to other classic car vendors and my regular car insurance company. They also had reasonable conditions, i.e., how many miles can be put on the car in a year, how they assess the agreed value of the car, etc. They also had very nice people on the phone! The other vendors that I got quotes from before I decided were these: http://www.grundy.com/ http://www.hagerty.com/ My family has a personal website that is for muscle car buyers and there is a specific page on questions to ask a classic car insurance company. You may find the checklist useful. http://www.find-your-muscle-car.com/muscle_car_insurance.html Best of luck to you. Drive that Impala so others can enjoy seeing it!
  5. scoop, There are tons of sites where you can get an online quote. http://www.autoadviceonline.com/Auto-Insurance-Quote.html It only takes 5 minutes to do.
  6. autoinsurance.bebto.com - try this one. I have their car insurance and, as I know, they can provide such a service.
