How Do I sell My Broken Car For Parts?

It doesn't work, wouldn't even be worth it to try & fix it. It's an 86 toyota camry. I'm hoping I can get some money out it for the parts at least. I recently had the radiator, tires & converter replaced. It has a blown head gasket, so it won't run at all. Can anyone give any advice?

  1. Usually if one sells a car for parts then, "you" the owner must strip the car of all usable parts, and advertise in a local paper or take the parts to a swap meet or similar car related function. If you sell the car for parts, but do not want to strip the car, then you'll have to find someone to buy the car as-is, and the new owner will take what parts he/she needs. Both ways can be a hassle. Consider donating the car to a reputable charity, but only if you can benefit from the tax break.
  2. Go to craigslist.org and look under 'Autos for Sale'. There are always people placing ads in that section to buy junk cars. You should be able to get $200 - $300 for it, depending on where you live.
  3. Try e-bay. It worked for Palin.
  4. i live in the mid west and the rebuild kit is 127.00 if you really don't want to get rid of it but if it is time to kiss it gb just put a sign on it and state the problem you will not have it to long
  5. It is an 1986, the parts have very little value because is looking for parts that old.
