Do 2008 car prices drop right at Jan 1, 2009? Is that the best day to buy a new car?

1. The best time to buy a brand new 2008 car is late february or early march 2009 that is when the price drop. and the lots fill with 2009 cars
2. Most '08 will be gone by next year. Best time is right now. Car sales are down big and everything must go. Check newspaper ad on Saturday and you'll see some great deals.
3. The best way to buy a "new car" is to buy one with less than 20k miles on it and the year you want. Once it is off the lot, you lose approx. 20% of the value you just paid.
4. NO! Prices do not drop of January 1. By then, depending on what you are looking for, there will be no 08's left. RIGHT NOW is the time. The 09's are here and if you want an 08, go now. From your friendly Toyota Salesperson :)
5. Most 09 models arrived at dealers months ago, and depending on the model you want they may have already run out of 08s. If you want a 2008 Corolla for example, you'll need a time machine to take you back about 8 months -- they're gone. Most models of truck and big SUV are still on 08 though.
