How to replace this part?

I recently had the torque control cylinoid replaced on my car. Can someone just give a brief summary on how this part is generally replaced. I don't think the dealership is being very honest with me on what they are doing to my car. (simply because I am a girl). And I'm going to set up a meeting with the service department manager because I have returned my car to them 3 time since christmas with a new problem and I'd like to go in there knowing a little bit about the parts and why they replaced it so they wont think that I am a complete idiot and start fixing things right so I don't have to keep taking me car to them. Its a 2005 chevy classic, 4 cylinder

  1. What did they charge you for labor?
  2. If you really think they are swindling you because you're a female you can always get in touch with the motoring ombudsman. In the meantime you can take it to another independent service centre such as Kwik Fit,Nationwide servicing etc. and get another opinion without paying anything as long as you don't have any work done of course.
