Is it legal to sell a car that isn't registered?
We've got a crappy car that has some outstanding tickets. We don't even really have the cash to register it, but we're selling it anyway. Can't we sell it and use the cash to pay the tickets?

- Doesn't matter if it's registered as long as you are the title holder
- Yes, it is perfectly legal to sell a car that is not registered. You just can't drive a car that is not registered. The new buyer would not get stuck with any of the previous bills as long as their ar no leins on the title.
- Yes that is legal. The tickets are on you. You only need the title. After the sale the buyer has the responsibility of registering the vehicle.
