Joe is right but I can't vote for anyone as I am not level two yet. Why do women spend so much on shoes indeed? Even ones that are not comfortable etc... For guys, they want to mod their cars to be unique... Recognised, different, their OWN. For me in particular I have a 1990 BMW 3 series which is old as hell but has a Zender Bodykit you can't get anymore and this kit is subtle and understated. It adds to the car and makes you wonder "what is different?" I want to mod my headlights because I like country lanes at night and would like maximum visibility. I had a 1.8 litre engine which is now a 2.5 litre engine as rebuilding the damaged 1.8 was out of the question (too expensive) - In contrast a full transplant/conversion cost half the amount as I had a good offer and not much of an increase in insurance - a fair bit more in fuel, but wow does it go! Each to their own, but for me I like to be inside a car I feel comfortable in at all times, with regards to its overall feel, looks and performance. I love the drive so most of my modifications would be to improve safety and the drive as a whole, and maybe, eventually performance as I plan to do laps in Germany around the Nurburgring. As for exterior mods - my car came with the kit and I fell in love with the car when I saw it - the only thing I would do is fix any chips, respray it the same colour (Laser Blue) with maybe added pearlescence for a unique twist, and upgrade the chipped/damaged badges... Replace the number plates... Little things. If I wanted my ego catered to, I would have bought a newer BMW like all the other people who buy BMWs... Even one 5 years or so newer than mine would probably have been cheaper as cars like mine are fast becoming a classic.
umm. because we can. what else woud we spend it on because we don't go shopping excessively. :-)
