  1. Three V-Dubs for under $17,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Find a Dealership(Car Distributor) that owns their cars not one that is own consignment. Vaden here in Savannah Ga owns his cars so he makes some good (great) deals. The Atlanta auction is always high speed if you know your auto. You can also build just about any car with that kind of money and buy a warranty for it out of Florida. Lastly Daytonia Dodge, MTN View Ford in Chattanooga Tenn. have a very good used car staff.
  3. I highly doubt that you will be able to purchase a new car at $17,000 unless you willing to settle for a used. Although, you may be able to purchase one those scion coupes or sedans for $18,000 between $19,000. I would recommend using the Kelly Blue Book website:
  4. The Honda Civic LX is a good buy for around your target price. The Civic LX coupe MT is listed at $17355.00 and you should be able to pick it up for around $17,000.00 + TT&L. The AT Civic LX coupe is just $18155.00 and you can buy one in the $17's + TT&L. The Civic's are getting a combined average MPG of around 35. Plus, you can beat te resale value of the Civic's!
  5. I find it amazing that people ignore your request for a new car and tell you to run out and buy a used car... There are several options out there under $17,000. But first you need to define your needs. - Something to get to and from work or school? - A vehicle to haul the entire familly around? (2-dr vs. 4-dr) - Do you need to haul big stuff (i.e. a pick-up?) - Are you going to tow a trailer? - How important are modern safety features to you? A couple months ago Chevy offered a brand new Impala for $16,999. Unfortunately when you looked close, it did not have ABS brakes, stability control, or traction control. Hyundai offers several cars under $17,000 and they all have the modern safety features. The 60,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty is pretty great too. (100,000 mile powertrain) Once you find the model that meets your needs, go to the manufacturer's web site and request an internet quote from every dealer in a 30 mile radius. You'll probably have to request quotes one dealership at a time. In many cases there is a big difference between prices. Happy car shopping.
  6. Ford Fusion 4cyl 5speed Ford Focus zx3 or zx5 Ford Ranger 4x2 Dodge Caliber Jeep Compass 4x2 these vehicles in the standard packages, can all be bought for less than 17k new, after rebates and discounts.
  7. The Toyota Corolla can be had for 17K and is the top rated car in its class by Consumer Reports: safety features, reliability and handling. ALso MPG is in the mid 30's. ALso by Toyota are the Scions all of which are rated well. THe trim level on a car of this price is not as nice as a more expensive car, but the overall value is there. Consumer reports is the best place to look at car reviews. You can get a copy (or at least look at one) at the library. The car report issue is about 2 months old.
