Choose between owning a professionally restored classic muscle car (your choice) or new car of the same value.?

Trying to decide between a new car at $25,000 or any of several classic cars (1964-1973).

Public Comments

  1. The new car comes with a warranty.
  2. Well, a 1967 Shelby Mustang tops the list for me
  3. you could consider buying a classic such as a 67 mustang, trying to find the replacement parts for a 40 year old car is a nightmare in and of itself, however, parts for a 08 mustang are readily available and in any dealership, the same holds true for most all other makes and models, and you dont have to worry about emissions, the proper values will be dialed in when you get it
  4. A classic muscle car would be the way to go for at least two reasons; # 1 , if it's kept in tip top shape, it can only go up in value.# 2 , you're not bound by any EPA Emissions Laws, so you can set it up any way you want to.And why is that so special ? It's entirely possible to convert Gasoline into a clear dry vapor that's 100 parts of Air to 1 part of Fuel.Newer model Vehicles are legally required to operate at 14.7 parts of Air to 1 part of Fuel, no exceptions.Any change will result in a failed Emissions Inspection. With vaporized fuel, you can get a lot more MPG's, more Power, and much longer engine life. But if you want a vapor fuel setup, you'll have to build your own, as there are no Kits on the Market.Go to my 360 Page for more.I'm not trying to sell anything, I just want to get the word out about the suppression of vapor fuel technology.Imagine a 454 Big Block ' 71 Chevelle getting 30 + MPG, with over 500 Horsepower ! It can be done !
  5. Muscle car all the way. A classic muscle car has readily available parts as long as it is a popular model, today you can build a 69 Camaro completely from new parts if you want. (There may be legal issues with that though, emissions, safety standards, it depends on state). A muscle car will also go up in value over time while a new car only depreciates. A muscle car can also be cheaper to maintain since the work is simpler, and requires less specialized equipment you are more likely to be able to fix it your self.
  6. If just raveling around town then I would go with a classic car but not travel with one such as a classic town car or such as the parts are hard to get if you break down on the road...I faced this same dilemma and decided on the new car a 08 camry so I can travel.
  7. If you need a daily driver get a new vehicle, if you need a second vehicle for fun get a muscle car. Muscle cars are not very practical or very inexpensive to drive, insure and maintain on a daily basis.
  8. You wont find a Professionally restored classic car for $25,000. bUT classics will appreciate if they're not driven too much.
