Car insurance, they didn't take payment, was I insured?

I have a classic car insurance policy with two cars on it, the policy started on one car but I later added a second. I have just taken the second car off the policy but it turns out the insurance company never took the payment for it to be added due to an error on their behalf, they did sent me the insurance certificate etc. My question is... Had I been in an accident in the second car would I still have been insured? or would they have tried to get out of paying the claim ? Also because they only noticed the error when I called to cancel the second car they want me to pay them for the time the car was "covered". I don't want to pay if I wasn't insured over the period of time they want me to pay for. Thanks in advance, Simon

  1. Since the error was theirs they would have had to pay a claim. Since they would have paid a claim, they accepted liability, since they accepted liability you are required to pay.

  5. You stated that you received a certifricate of insurance. That is your proof that the compqany added the vehicle. If you would have had an accident during the policy period you would have been covered. You owe the insurance company for the period the vehicle was insured.
