Can I buy a specifically built car online?

I've been researching my next vehicle online for about a year now. I'll be buying one in the next couple of months, and as I was looking at the dealer websites nearby, all the cars were not built as I want. They have accessories I don't want, and are missing things I do want. Is there a website where I can order a vehicle exactly the way I want it and have it delivered to the nearest dealership? For anyone who's been in the military, I'm looking for something similar to AAFES Car Sales. Thanks!

  1. yes sure you just have to crosscheck your requirements already available at http://www.iSeeCars.com good luck
  2. Sure you can. In fact, I had one of my earlier cars built by an automotive design student in the UK. He got his 'live' design accepted and I got my brand new, custom car! Not sure of how effective it would be to build specify your car online, but I'm open to the idea.
  3. Your dealer is going to try to pressure you into buying something off his lot, even if it isn't the color or has the features that you want. However, you can order EXACTLY what you want from the factory at your local dealership. First, visit the car maker's website and select the options that you want. Print this out and take it to your dealer. They will place your order with the factory. Then, your car will be built to your specs from the factory and delivered to your dealer for you to pick up. It usually takes 2-3 months from the time of your order to when you can pick it up. Your car's paperwork will even have your name all over it to prove that it was made for you. Any new car I've bought has been bought this way. The dealers never have a model with the specific options that I want. I figure if I am going to spend this much money on a car, it should have the features I want. Nothing more, nothing less.
