car auction Checklist?

What do I do check for at a car auction. I live in baton rouge,la they are having a open to the Public Police auction. Most of the cars theyre selling or police cars (impalas,crown vics) I just want to know what to look for when inspecting the cars.. Its oct 4th,2008 the inspection days are Oct 1-3

1. The do it yourself inspection list at myautopartner.com seems detailed and systematic. http://www.myautopartner.com/carcoach/ccinspection.php It is not tailored to buying at an auction, but you could print out several and then use to study each car of interest at the auction.
2. Chris H, I found a list of several auto auction and government seized sites. http://www.autoadviceonline.com/Government-Seized-Auto-Auctions.html These sites can probably answer your questions. It looks like they cost a little bit to join, but I couldn't find any free resources online. Since the vehicles are always being sold, your signup fee is probably used to keep the site up to date.
