Can you sell your car in Illinois even if it has failed the emissions test?

My husbands car failed the emissions test back in April and its just been sitting taking up my parking spot. I wasn't sure if we could sell it as is or can you only sell cars that have passed the emissions test?

1. Of course ya can. Sold as is. Explain that the vehicle failed emissions tests.
2. yes you can sell it,and make sure you sign and return emissions document stateing you have sold the car if not illinois will suspend you drivers licenses and plates
3. where in illinois do you live?yes you can sell the car but you must let the new owner that it has not passed.if you live close to mchenry illinois,i do side work from my home.im an a.s.e. certified master-tech,with over 35 years experiance.i would be happy to check it out for you.most emmision related problems are cheap to fix unless its the catalytic convertor.feel free to e-mail if you would like me to look at it.
