Do you buy or lease your car?

I know you can save money in the long run by buying a car outright but it is worth it to pay a little more and always have a new car and not worry so much about maintenance? What made you make the decision to buy or lease your car?

  1. I leased one vehicle. Never again. You get nothing and there are too many conditions. It isn't worth the hassle unless you get a business write off by leasing.
  2. Depends on a lot of factors. You can get more car for your money in a lease, than you can if you buy it. You'll always be under warranty, you dont have to worry about going to sell it in 2-3 years and you owe 15,000 on it and its worth 8,000, because it's not your responsibility in a lease. You need to take into account how much you drive, how often you get a new car, and how long you want to keep it and pay it off, or keep trading every 3 years. If you get a new car every 2-3 years, leasing is WAAAYYY better.
  3. I have leased my family cars for years and it works very well for me. But it doesn't always work for everyone, especially if drive more than about 15K miles per year. Here's more details: http://www.leaseguide.com/lease01.htm
