New car discounts in 2009?

Do you think there will be good discounts available in 2009 on new cars, even if it's a new model (e.g. the Golf) due to the current economic climate? Or can they still ask full price if it's a new model?

1. For those in the UK looking to buy a new car, the lower VAT rate is favourable, and many dealers are looking to find sales, and already I have seen prices coming down. I think you won't find a more favourable time, personally.
