Which is a better car, and a better car to modify the Lexus Is300 or the Audi S4?

Me and ma mom both need a car so its either of the two, and as a car fantatic i would also be modifying it so can you help me decide?

1. The S4 will be a lot faster.The S4 will have a V-8 with 340hp. The S4 is not as reliable, but still overall a good vehicle. The IS300 has a V-6 with a little over 200hp. This is a good car to modify though. More reliable and will be cheaper to maintain and lower on insurance costs.
