How long does a financing company have to send out a car title after the loan has been paid?

The loan has been paid in full and its been three weeks. Should I sue them?

  1. Sue them for what? They'll get it to you. Just be patient. Especially if you wrote a check. They have to wait for it to clear. It could take up to a month. Relax for god sakes.
  2. I know it seems long to you, but I've seen some finance companies take up to 30 to 45 days, especially Capital One, Chase, and US Bank. I agree with you that three weeks is to long, but to sue would be just a waste of money. The only time they get in a hurry is with their letter telling a person that they are late on their payment. Very unfair system!
  3. They are very slow, I almost think they don't care, since they have lost your business. Call them, give them the benefit of the doubt, but after that give them a piece of your mind. I think by the time you sue, they will have it done.
