What is cheap car insurance for a young driver (18?)?
Hello. I've just started driving and I would like to get car insurance, but I am broke :(. What is cheaper car insurance that one could recommend to me?

- It varies depending on your location, but many states now have state-mandated programs for insurance...the rates are insanely cheap, such as $20/mo, compared to hundreds of dollars elsewhere. If these type of programs aren't available to you, you can get quotes for free at any competing site such as geico, allstate, esurance, etc. For a new driver i would really recomend full coverage..but that's going to be expensive no matter where you go. Just get what you are obligated to do and can also financially afford while being comfortable with how much voerage you have, you should be fine.
- For a 18 year old, your insurance will be very high. I recommed you get the car under your parent's insurance company, that way you pay less because of your parent's driving record. Most 18 yrs old only have at least 2 yr of driving experince. And most teenagers are the one who get in the most car accidents, which in returns loses money for the insurance company.
- the way I do it is I wait till I am due for renewal then I shop around and when I find the cheapest quote I ask my insurers if they can match it, if they cannot then I do not renew and go with the new guys. If you check out a good comparison site you get to save much time as the site will provide quotes from all main insurers.
