Car Dealer can't find title and sold us a car with a bad wheel rim.?

My brother bought a car a couple weeks ago from a dealer. It's a used car and since he got it he's had nothing but problems with the car and the dealership. He has 10 days to get the car licenced and the dealership has no idea where the title is. Then to top it all off he has to get a new wheel for the car because the rim on the car he bought was broken. Is there anything else we can do here? My brother really likes the car, but is fed up with the dealership.

  1. Next time he should not take possession of a car until all the paperwork is complete and the car has been inspected so he will know what he is buying.
  2. THE CAR DEALERSHIP HAS TO GIVE YOU THE TITLE OR BUY THE CAR BACK FROM YOU AT THE PRICE YOU SET THAT IS THE LAW IN ARKANSAS
  3. Fight it. I work for a dealership and I know that when we have customers who are not happy with a vehicle,we do EVERYTHING in our power to make it right. I would say about 98% of people who buy a vehicle from a dealership will remain loyal to that dealer IF they have a good experience. The last thing they want to hear is that a person is taking their (and everyone they know) bussiness else where. We have even taken cars back from people who were not happy with them, as long as it is in a certain amount of time. As for the titling issue, I can't believe that this dealer isn't doing the DMV things for him, the dealership I work at handles that for the customers and then sends them their plates, tags, and registration. Also you may want to DOUBLE check, but I am pretty sure that the dealer is not suppose to be selling a vehicle WITHOUT a title, your brother should have signed it when he signed the other paperwork, but if they did have it originally then I don't know what they would do other than apply for a lost title at the DMV. Hope it helps.
  4. take the car to the dealership and get the new rim. if it has under 100,000 miles on it, he probably has a 30 day dealership warranty. take it to be fixed or tell him to sue the dealership in small claims. they CAN get a new title, and it will take almost 30 days, so, stop sitting on it and get him in there to take care of this. time is awaisting! get the new rim while he waits for the title, if he doesnt hes being ripped off and he is letting it happen because "he really likes the car" know your rights.
