Overhaulin'

I am just in the process of buying a new car from Carcraft, and have been reading very bad reviews about it?

The car is exactly what we are looking for and seems to be very reasonably priced. I have been to see it and it looks immaculate and we have also done an AA check on it. My problem is that they have said that the log book is at a different branch and they will send it to us through the post. Has anyone have anything good to say about them and should i buy a car before seeing the log book The bad reviews are of Carcraft itself, not the car

  1. Somebody as big as carcraft won't sting you with a dodgy car the log book will be fine...Where they do sting you is with the service and maintainance charges be carefull.....
  2. No, you should see the log book on purchase. Otherwise you have no idea if it is legitimate. Tell them they have to produce the logbook at the time of sale.
  3. its from a good recognised car dealership, you will be fine,
  4. Would no bother with them far to many cases against them.and the price of the cars is on the high side. There are some great deal to be had by other more car dealers out there, my wife has just got her self a new Mazda with a 1/3 of the price knocked off.
  5. Hello, (ANS) No.1 NEVER EVER buy a car BEFORE you have seen the actual log book first. No.2 Make 100% certain it IS the real & original log book too. No.3 If the above check out as OK!! you can feel secure that the offer made by Car Craft is trust worthy. No.4 DON'T ever exchange or give you money until you are completely satisfied the log book is real & that it checks out with what the garage claims (including car craft here). No.5 NOT only should you test drive the car in question, but you should also get down on the ground and have a good close look under neither the car and check out the exhaust pipes & under sealing for any rust or damage, etc. No.6 Check out what Car Craft are offering in terms of any guarantees or warranty period once you have purchased the car. Ivan
  6. you want to know how to check a used car no matter who your getting it from so type into search box how to check used car will get you a list of things to look for when buying used cars you follow list you have a better change of not buying a lemon
  7. Are you saying that you've read bad reviews about the car you're buying or the dealer? It would help to know which car you're referring to. Buy elsewhere then - it's a buyer's market, so just take your cash to another dealer, private seller or auction house.
  8. just get them to send the lgg book to the branch where you're picking the car up from, if they post it NOW you will be able to see it at 9AM tomorrow morning. If they want to sell the car, they will have no problem with that. I know someone who bought a car from carcraft and they had nothing but good things to say - they were very pleased ( 5 series Beema i think )
  9. Get a carfax report, just run the VIN, take it to your mechanic, if a company has a bad reputation it means they'll sell anything, not that everything they sell is bad, for every bad deal they make they have to make enough good deals to stay in business.
  10. 'Don't', 'touch' and 'Barge Pole' come to mind!!
  11. This is very common where they are selling you an ex rental car. You will probably find when it turns up in the post that its an ex rental. Car Craft are really good PRE sale, then you get the car home, it WILL have something wrong with it, then the POST sale service is rubbish. As above i would ring them up and ask them to send it to the branch you are dealing with and inspect before you part with your cash / sign the very high interest credit agreement. Also they shouldnt really be selling cars with no V5 present, would you by it from a pikey at the side of the road with no V5 i think not. Most of there cars are ex rental / lease cars or job lots they have bought cheap from auctions. Good luck cause buying a car from them is risky business no matter what your new best friend the sales man tells you, good luck getting your calls returned when you have a problem. Once yu have bought it i would read the sale of good act very very carefully so you can refer to it later. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
