How do I get a title for a classic car that I'm restoring in the state of NC it is a late 60's model?
I have a car that is a 67 Galaxy 500 matching numbers I got the car by doing work on a farm from a guy for the car but there is no title and I don't know how to get in touch with the original owner of the car so I can't get him to sign for a lost title and in North Carolina I don't know how else to get a title for the car I really need a title for it so I can restore it and make it show ready Please Help Me if U can!!!!!!!

- The basic is, go to the DMV (or whatever equivalent vehicle registration office you have in NC) and tell them "I have this classic car I'm restoring but I don't have a good title, please help me fix this." They probably deal with this all the time and have special forms. Fill them out with the VIN, and last known license plate, whatever info you have, and they'll try to track down the last known owner. Eventually you'll get your title, but it may take a while. In general, I've often found that in dealing with government agencies, if you say "I know it's wrong and I want to make it right" they'll help you out. (As long as what's wrong isn't a major felony :-)
- Go to the DMV and file for a lost title.
