Do I have to be on a car loan to be on the registration?
Last June, I tried to finance a Honda Accord but I needed a co-signer, my boyfriend cosigned for me, but the dealership said they found a better loan rate without me on the loan. So for the past year I have been paying for the loan & insurance, totaling about $8311.44 as of today. On Friday the 13th, my boyfriend(ex)now took off with the car that he has not paid 1 cent on & said he isn't bringing it back. I just want to know how I can be added to the registration? I have been online all last night & today completing court papers to take him to court, I'm not on the title & the insurance was in is name up until last week. But I do have all of my receipts plus my family & friends know he did this for me & every month the car payment was the 1st thing I paid. It would be so much easier if I was on the title, he was off.

- Ouch - hope you kept the payment receipts!! You need to be on the title for your name to be on the registration. Better ask an attorney what to do - and get the proof handy showing YOU made all the payments!
- The key document is the title. If that is in your name, the car is yours with a lien applied by the lender. If you're not on the title, you have a problem that can only be resolved in court--small claims if the value of the car is relatively small. What you would do is to sue your boyfriend to recover all of the money that you have paid for "his" car. You can't recover the cost of the insurance before the day he took the car and your recovery will be reduced because while you were together, you were the primary user.
- I dont have the best of credit, well in fact its kinda bad, but I was able to get car loan since I do have a job which is mainly what this place cared most about for me. They are one of these places that have multiple sources and they say like 99 percent approved. So I would give this site a try.... http://thnlnk.com/deal4-you/Auto.Loans/051 Good luck.
