upgrades for a 1966 impala?

i have a 1966 impala, given to me by my grandfather. it has not rust, dents, and the color is red w/red interior. the only thing that has been recently put on were brakes and a new starter. what new installations should i make on my car without ruining the classic car feel? i was thinking about uprising doors but would that be ridiculous? last part: its 43 years old and doesn't really have a fast take-off. i don't have a miss, how can i improve this and even do spin-outs?

1. You are crazy this car is a beauty a great wax new classy rims shinny tires and detail interior wash should give you a nice ride. some modifications can actually mess up with the whole car.
2. OK , ya got a 2 bbl or 4 bbl carb? Is it a 6 or 8 ''banger" ( cyl). Ya wanna fry the tires , give it a tune up, set the dwell at 28deg, oh yes, what size engine is it? More info needed on some more specs for max Hp. Ya wanna make the doors uprising, well heck, it is your car so do what ya wanna if ya got the cash
3. We need more info on the engine to be able to help you.Headers and electronic ignition will help.You need to find out what gears are in the rearend also...If they are too tall then spinouts will be impossiable
4. Whatever mods you make,be sure you can put it back the way it was.Save all your old parts and please don't put those ridiculous doors on that car.
